At Alterna, our mission is to empower vulnerable communities—particularly Latino immigrants and their families—by providing accessible financial services and education. We are dedicated to bridging the gap in financial inclusion by offering innovative banking solutions tailored to the unique needs of those underserved by traditional financial institutions. Through our commitment to service and education, we strive to enhance financial stability and foster economic growth within the communities we serve.

By collaborating with local Latino/Hispanic non-profit organizations and community leaders, Alterna establishes a deep-rooted presence within the communities it serves. Unlike competitors that rely solely on traditional marketing channels, Alterna’s partnership strategy enhances accessibility and encourages adoption among those who may be hesitant to engage with mainstream financial institutions.

Moreover, Alterna offers a comprehensive application hub that integrates three essential financial tools designed specifically for its users. The hub includes the Alterna Sin Fronteras and Virtual Bank Account app, providing users with a convenient and secure way to manage their finances without the need for an ITIN or SSN. The Alterna Remesas app enables easy and cost-effective money transfers to Latin America, eliminating the need to visit physical locations for remittances. Additionally, the Alterna Mexico app allows family members in Mexico to open their own Alterna Mexico Virtual Bank Account and receive a Prepaid Mastercard. This feature enables seamless card-to-card money transfers from the U.S. to Mexico. By offering this integrated suite of applications, Alterna delivers a unique, holistic financial solution that directly connects families across borders, setting itself apart from competitors in the industry.
